ABOUT THE ARTIST

Deborah Albrecht was born in New Jersey but spent most of her childhood growing up in California. She moved to Oregon in the mid-70’s and has been on the Oregon Coast ever since.
For as long as she can remember, Deborah has had a passion for “making things”.
From a handwritten illustrated book in the third grade, to building an entire house in her 40’s, Deborah has explored a wide range of creative interests. For nearly a decade she shared a storefront and studio with well-known glass artist James Hannen in Cannon Beach, Oregon building stained glass windows and lamps.
The desire to work with her hands led Deborah to therapeutic massage; a career she actively practices today.
The early days of the pandemic afforded Deborah the time to explore her long-held desire to paint with pastels. She has studied with Pastel artists Marla Bagetta and Alain Picard. Inspired by nature, local scenery and the secret life of dogs, Deborah has been creating pastel paintings since early 2020.
